Why is the ipod touch so much more expensive than the new iphone 3g?
The ipod touch is $319.00 and the iphone is $199.00. I would think that since the ipod touch has a few less things than the iphone that there would be a decrease in value. Does anyone know why the price hasn't dropped in the ipod touch?

- Well,
with the iPhone you must pay for 24 month contract in turn adding up to about 1500 dollars! But in Aus you can buy it with prepaid for 729/849 dollars! So the ipod touch in the long term is much more cheaper!
- Well apple figgures that you also have to get service with the phone so they are partners with AT&T so they can lower the price. But the touch is all Apple so it cost more for them and you
- ipod touch is a one time payment, iphone is a contract and you end up paying a lot more.
- Well my guess is because less people want the iphone because of the contract.. I got a touch because of that.
- iPhones normally would be more expensive than an iPod (and the first generation iPhones were), but your cellular contract helps subsidize the additional expense. (Apple gets a portion of your monthly fees per their arrangement with your carrier.)
- its not even close to being a little more expensive than the iphone...
tha ipod touch is was cheaper
first it doesnt cost $320 bucks, its $270
and for the iphone u have to get a freackin to year contract which ends up costing u almost $2,000!
and if u buy the iphone unlocked it would cost $499 for the 8GB and $599 for the 16GB
u still think the ipod touch is more expensive??
- Well that is just because the iphone 3g you have to pay a monthly fee
