iPod Remote

What are these pointless Ipod Accessories for?

I just bought an Ipod touch, and in the box there are two pointless accessories. One is a clear plastic clip like thing. The other is a white little thing that looks like it would fit on one of the ends. Does anyone know what these are for?

2. ok well i was wondering the same thing i have no idea what the clear little clip thing is but the other white thing is a dock so you can connect your ipod to other docking systems like i home and stuff
