How do I download podcasts on to my apple ipod?

I am having problems understanding how to download prodcasts ie radionational programs on to my apple ipod. I just can't find any simple instructions. I would appreciate a step by step simple answer. I am in my 60's and a bit of a technical dummy. Thanks so much

   First you need to find the Podcast you want to download. Then right click and select "save target as" (for a pc) or "save file as" (for mac) once you select this option it will ask you where you want to save the file. Select the destination for the saved file and let it download (time will depend on how fast your interenet is and how long the podcast is) Once the file is complete, it should be in a .mp3 format already. Then just import into your iTunes library and transfer onto your iPod like any other .mp3.

   iTunes offers several free podcast (video or audio) that you can download form the music store for free. these are easier to get on your ipod becuase they are already in the correct format. Search the store for one that you want, click the suscribe button. let it download. and it will be in you Podcast menu inside iTunes. then just transfer it into you iPod by draging it over to the iPod Library.
